- Pie crust – 9” – homemade or store-bought
- Bananas – 4 – peeled
- Egg yolks – 4
- All-purpose flour – ¼ cup
- Sugar – ¾ cup
- Milk – 1 ¾ cups
- Heavy cream – 2 cups
- Icing sugar – ¾ cup
- Salt – ½ teaspoon and one pinch
- Butter – 3 ½ tablespoon

- Preheat the oven at 360 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the pie crust for ten minutes.
- Take out the crust from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Set a layer of bananas over the pie crust so that no space is left without bananas.
- Save one banana and make its puree.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and milk.
- Add the mixture to a saucepan and bring to boil while stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add butter. Stir until the butter melts, and the mixture becomes glossy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks till they become lighter in color. Add three tablespoons from the milk mixture.
- Now pour all the whisked egg yolks in the milk mixture and keep it again on low heat to simmer.
- When the mixture thickens, add the pureed banana.
- Remove from flame and pour this mixture over the pie crust and banana layer.
- Let it cool, and then refrigerate for three hours or until chilled.
- Mix the heavy cream and icing sugar in a bowl.

Can you make the banana cream pie in advance?
